Results after the first weekend

Well, quite a wild weekend... who had Richmond, Marquette (Ugh, SU Sucketh), or VCU or Florida State??? Holy crapolies!

Brackets were busted everywhere and we need a rest for a few days.

For those who care (I don't, as I'm beyond out of first place), here are the results after the first weekend.

So, in first place, thanks to picks from my kids, Thomas and Kate, is the queen of Keene NH, Diana! Yeah, there's a lot of science in making picks, eh??? They didn't use a Ouija board or pick their favorite color uniform teams, either. Becca, of the Russells from the great state of North Carolina in in second, followed closely by Mark, who had zero points after first day. Good comeback, Snalbans Kid!

Chris & Tom, newcomers to the pool, are in line for a free entry next year for coming in last place.

Good luck!

NCAA - Day one results

Phew! what a first day! Loved it, even though I didn't see every game (somebody's gotta work, huh?).

And for the person who picked both Morehead State and Richmond, wow! That person is... uh, nobody... okay, but Don and Mitch did pick Richmond... nice! Morehead State??? Louisville was the MOST picked team in this tourney! And they went down... Poor Ricky Pitino... that's a shame... b-bye! and The Zags of Gonzaga helped a few people grab some nice first round points..

Here's to another round of 16 great games today.... and the four different channels for games actually, sort of, worked ot okay... plus, I just slap on http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/scoreboard and I can watch games online... you can also see scores on my blog which has the scores in a box at the top at http://patsncaapool.blogspot.com/

and here's to Diana, too busy traveling this great country of ours working, she had my kids, Thomas and Kate, pick her teams... Kate went with low numbers (the statistician like her Dad) and Thomas picked them according to where his friends at school had moved from or to... good luck, Di!

have fun, and hope you didn't have too much green beer yesterday! Go Orange!

Pat

P.S. Oh, yeah, these are the first day leader but it doesn't mean much as half the teams haven't played so hang in there Mark, your teams play today...

I'm just sayin....

If you haven't got your pix in yet, I'll take emails until noon...

Just some clues: So far, no one has picked USC... which is good, because they lost...

and no one has picked UC Santa Claus as a #16 seed...

and Hampton be a good place to go to the beach, but don't expect them to beat Don's Dukeees!

and if UTSA does a full body search on Ohio State, maybe they'll win... oh, they AREN'T the US Transportation Security Agency?

March Madness 2011

The madness approaches!!!
Can you feel it?

Here are your tournament rules:

- Pick 2 teams you think will win from each of the four different regions.
- Pick 2 additional wild card teams (again, ones you think will win) from any bracket.
- This, for you math wizards, is a total of ten (10) teams.
- Each time one of your teams wins, you get one point for their win and X points for their seed.

For example:
If North Texas Southern is a 9 seed and wins two games, they get 1 point for each win and 9 points for their seed, times two. (1+9) x 2 = 20 points

If North Carolina is a 1 seed and they win all six games, they get (1+1) x 6 = 12 points

If your team loses in the first round, you get zero points.

Please pass on to those who's emails I've lost or others who might be interested.

The entry fee is $10. Entries limited to three. I need new running shoes and can use the cash.

Deadline for entry is midnight March 16, 2010.

Last place gains free entry next year! Cory Chesnick "Go Nova!" Piana was robbed last year so she gets one free entry this year.

Congrats also to last years winner, from the great state of North Carolina, Jake "Go Heels!" Lynch! He gets no free entry this year as he is rich from last years winning, which I assume went directly into his college fund.

Prize money is split 75% to the winner and 25% for second place. The pool manager gets squat, as deserved. Possible tie breakers will be dealt with when we're down to the Final Four.
